Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone for the project of Bab-e-Pakistan. This project has been divided into two phases and is expected to be completed by 2020.
Main monument of Bab-e-Pakistan is going to be 167 ft high comprising of auditorium, library, museum & display galleries. Bab-e-Pakistan shall have food courts, souvenir shops, bird aviary, butterfly garden, amphitheater and much more. It will have sports complex with indoor & outdoor facilities including swimming pool, gymnasium, squash court, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, tennis, & volleyball.
